Each CogniScan module has a specific function, and is either operator or supervisor controlled. Together these modules provide the customer with a solution to meet their individual needs. A brief description of the modules follows:
Data Capture Module: an operator-controlled module for seamless interfacing with any scanner or document processing transport. Multiple data capture modules can be used with numerous scanners or document processing transports if volumes increase. Data not captured by the transport, using on-board recognition technology, will be processed using secondary recognition in the Recognition Module.
Data Completion Module: an operator-controlled module, where additional data can be manually keyed to complete the process. Various data completion routines can be accessed through this user-friendly interface, to maximise throughput.
Recognition Module: an operator-controlled module, which presents the document images to the Intelligent Character Recognition engines for processing.
Archive Module: an operator-controlled module that allows images and captured data to be stored/backed-up within the system, with user-defined indexing. An operator, responding to customer queries, can easily access the relevant image and data via this user-friendly interface.
Correction Module: an operator-controlled module. A user-friendly interface, which allows the operator to manually key in data that has not been reliably captured by the Data Capture and Recognition Modules. The display of the whole document image, highlighted areas of interest and data entry fields make the process of manual keying data quick and reliable.
Supervisor Module: a supervisor-controlled module, where the system functionality is set up and controlled. This module will monitor the whole process, and will keep the supervisor up to date so that maximum performance can be maintained.
Report Module: a supervisor-controlled module allowing customised reports to be produced, about the system performance, for future analysis.
