System Upgrade & Expansion

A Publishing company based in South Yorkshire have decided to centralise their received payment process from a number of offices throughout the UK to one location. This includes an increase in BACS payments.

CogniScan has a modular build therefore scalable, making the expansion of a client workload easily accommodated.

The introduction of BACS payments for this client saw their existing CogniScan application expand by including the BACS Reconciliation module. This application basically scans the invoices, performs recognition and automatically reconciles against the Banks BACS file. The application is user friendly utilising colour identifiers to highlight matched, unmatched and out of date invoices concluding with output for onward processing.

Token Redemption Solution

A nationwide high profile shopping outlet has chosen Cognitronics to supply a solution to automate the currently manual voucher redemption process associated with their incentive scheme.

The SCN6005 along with CogniScan has been selected as the preferred solution to automate the process.

All Cognitronics solutions are scalable, both in terms of additional scanning units and additional licensed modules within CogniScan. It is the intent of this client to expand our solution in-line with their ambitions and growth.

Payment Processing Solution

An East Anglian mail order company has chosen Cognitronics as their preferred supplier over their existing supplier.

The SCN6005 and CogniScan application has been chosen to process incoming Cheque and Remittance Payments. In addition, the new system will accommodate other applications including: Credit Card, Direct Debit, hand print change of address and others, the captured information is then integrated into the clients payment management system.

Stock Control Solution

A major player in the UK greetings card industry has chosen Cognitronics as the preferred supplier to provide a scanning solution for the re-order forms submitted by each individual stockist.

The system will read a combination of OCR-B, Barcode and Mark Box data from stock re-order cards and format the data for onward processing.

The SCN6005 along with CogniScan has been chosen as a future proof solution. The Cognitronics desktop scanning solution is a replacement for a previous high volume processing system which was for bigger, costly and slower than the Cognitronics solution.

The client is expected see pay-back within 12 months from purchase.

SCAN6500 Hand Held Reader

 

Next Generation of Hand Held Payment Scanners

Cognitronics success with hand-held OCR and Barcode wanding technology continues with a USB version of the wand, the SCAN6500. The new device provides on-board recognition technology and negates the need for a bulky decoder unit. 2,000 devices have currently been ordered for use in 'Counter Point' payment operations. The units will be phased in to replace the previous generation of device over the next 6 month period.

Cheque and Remittance Processing

A Utilities Company in the Midlands has chosen a Payments Processing solution enabled with Cheque Encoding to replace a competitors end-of-life system.

The MDT100 and CogniScan were chosen to process their incoming Cheque and Remittance Payments and seamlessly integrate into their in-house developed management system.

Voucher Redemption Solution for Trade Association

Another Voucher Redemption solution from Cognitronics has been installed with a major player within the Voucher arena. The client, based in South-West England, operates a Voucher system on a National scale. The company chose Cognitronics on the basis of our reputation in this market sector following several previous aborted attempts with other suppliers.

The client chose the SCN6005 and CogniScan solution to process vouchers returned by its members to the client, the client being the association for its members.

High Speed Remittance Processing

A Yorkshire based outsource operation is to take delivery of a high speed Reader / Sorter supplied by Cognitronics to cope with an additional workload created through their Remittance Processing operation. The system replaces an existing Cognitronics system and is needed to cope with the higher volumes with the need to meet the same operational window for banking. Once established, the system will be able to process up to 10,000 documents per hour.

Payment Processing Expansion...

A midlands based outsource operation has confirmed orders for significant software development in connection with a government based Payment Processing operation. The development is due to be delivered by the end of June for User Acceptance Testing and ready for operational use in August 2007.

... and Relocation

A major Mail Order company located in the South West relocated their entire Payment Processing operation early in April. Cognitronics engineering staff worked through the weekend to move two high speed Reader / Sorters and associated peripherals to the new location. The operation was shut down following Friday's processing and was back in operation for Monday morning. The weekend was used to avoid any disruption to the Customers operation.

Software Deployment

A North West based Mail Order Company took delivery of Cognitronics software to meet the needs of the company's Business Optimisation Program. This is the third phase of development that has been delivered. The development will undergo stringent Customer testing in an on-site Test Environment prior to transition into the Production environment.

Disaster Recovery Centre

A major insurance company based in the North-West are to establish a Disaster Recovery Centre to support their Payment Processing operation. The centre will house a Walther MDT 100 Remittance Processing System and also an SO Series Scanner. The company is in the process of changing from Remittance Processing to Statement Processing where the SO Series will provide the ability to scan A4 Statements and Cheques within the same batch. It is hoped that the centre will be ready for operation by June 2007.

The VA (formerly the Voucher Association)

Cognitronics were amongst the exhibitors at a very successful VA Conference held at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower, London back in March 2007.

The Voucher market has been a particularly successful area for Cognitronics for which we provide Voucher Redemption Solutions which in its basic terms, validates redeemed Vouchers against the claimant's figures. Our solutions provide bespoke applications to read and balance the claimant's figures and also reports duplicate and possible fraudulent activity.

Cognitronics are pleased to be exhibiting at the 2008 annual VA Conference to be held at the Marriot Hotel, Governor Square, London on the 22nd April 2008.

Financial Services

Cognitronics enters 2007 continuing the successes of 2006. A major Financial Services organisation based in the North-West is to take delivery of an SCN 6005 Scanner and CogniScan software to automate their current Remittance Processing operation. The current manual operation is labour intensive and open to inaccuracies. The new Cognitronics system will provide a single method for processing all payments, significantly reduce the labour overheads and will hold images of all transaction details which will greatly assist the Customer Services Team and improve the response to any Customer queries.
