10 Years Service rewarded by New Contract
An existing customer in the East Midlands has purchased a new system that will allow them to continue their successful Remittance Processing operation for the foreseeable future.
Taking advantage of the fact that cheque encoding is no longer a requirement for them, a new SCN6000 based system was installed in their Nottingham Offices during December with a view to running live in January 2005. The system will also include a page scanner to capture the images of larger documents.
The installation comes exactly 10 years after Cognitronics installed the original equipment. Our Support engineers have maintained the system throughout this time and it continues to process daily, although the Operating system in particular has become outdated and the hardware is less sophisticated than it's modern desktop equivalent.
The SCN6000 transport has a very much smaller footprint than most existing remittance processing equipment and when harnessed to the Cognitronics software, provides a powerful solution to almost all document processing requirements.

The Operation was carried out in conjunction with other suppliers who also had to move their equipment into a newly furnished building some four miles away.
The Manager overseeing the Operation was pleased to report that the relocation was carried out 'efficiently and effectively' allowing the Cash Office staff to commence normal operations at 7:30am on the Monday morning.

Home Shopping
One of the countries leading home shopping organisations has confirmed orders for Cognitronics to replace their existing Remittance Processing system at their HQ in the North West. The new system will be based on the SCN 6000 hardware platform with 'Cogniscan' software.
With the organisation no longer required to encode cheques, the SCN 6000 was selected as the ideal replacement device to reduce space, increase throughput and offer increased flexibility to integrate with a revised network infrastructure.
Whilst the network infrastructure is still being implemented the Remittance Processing System is due to be installed early in 2005.
